A group of Miami students walking out of the White House on an Inside Washington trip

The nation’s next leaders are identified in this program. It brings together students who are passionate about law, politics, government, and public affairs. Scholars will be able to explore their interests and prepare for the future through:

  • Mentorship from a member of the Pre-Law Alumni Advisory Board.
  • Guaranteed access to all pre-law courses.
  • Enrollment in special sections of political science courses that explore government and public policy issues.
  • Interaction with university guest speakers, top politicians, and policymakers, allowing for a unique look at special lecture topics.
  • Shadowing experiences, which may include placement with a Miami alumnus working in state or local government.

To be considered for the Law and Public Policy Scholars Program, you must select a major in the College of Arts and Science and select one of the following Professional/Academic Areas of Interest on the Common Application: Political Science, Pre-Law/Lawyer, or Public Policy/Government.
