The American Culture & English program, ACE, began in Fall 2011 as a very small undergraduate English language program in the College of Arts & Science, with four instructors and a first class of 37 incoming international students. It has since grown into a multi-level program, with 26 instructors teaching a variety of classes to over 300 international students each year.

ACE is designed to help international students develop the English language skills they need to succeed as students at Miami University.

  • ACE» Students in the ACE program earn at least 15 college credits toward graduation during their first semester at Miami.  The specially designed curriculum includes three courses (12 credits) focused on English language and American culture, and one elective course (3-5 credits) from the regular Miami course catalogue. Once students successfully complete the program, they are fully admitted into Miami University.
