Chemical Engineering Minor

Boy handling chemicals in a lab

The minor provides an understanding of basic chemical engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies and how they are applied to the design and performance of industrial processes. Chemical engineering students learn to apply the concepts of chemistry, biochemistry, and mathematics to solve problems in process engineering, product development, and research and development. Examples of industries that employ chemical engineers are gas and oil, synthetic organic chemicals, pulp and paper, biotechnology, electronics, food processing, and environmental protection.

The minor satisfies Thematic Sequence CPB 1: Chemical Engineering Principles
