Queenie’s Bio

Qinghua (Queenie) joined the Discovery Center (formally Ohio’s E & A Center) in April 2015 as a Statistician and Data Analyst. Queenie is driven by a passion to observe and find the effects of education on children and adult learners, their families, the community, and society. She has conducted numerous research projects on a range of education topics at the Delaware Education Research and Development Center (4 years) and Center for Applied Demography and Survey Research (3 years). In 2014, she earned a Master’s in Economics and a Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy at University of Delaware. After earning her degrees, she worked as a quantitative researcher at Rutgers University and managed the quantitative analyses on a TAACCCT-funded (Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program) project which developed new or redesigned online and hybrid courses leading to credentials in health care fields. She enjoys utilizing her extensive experience conducting complicated statistical analyses (including HLM and logistic modeling), managing large scale data and implementing survey research and her expertise in research method design and data visualization to accomplish project goals and to communicate her ideas with colleagues, clients, and other researchers.
