The Engaging Technology Lab (ETL), McGuffey 214, is a state-of-the-art space used by students and faculty, both independently and collaboratively, to explore how technology can transform teaching and learning. 

Infrastructure and Services

The lab is open to everyone who wants to learn more about technology or work on tech-related projects. It offers the following infrastructure to its visitors.

  • Equipment Library - The ETL has everything you need to use technology and even create your own content. We lend out state of the art laptops, tablets, cameras, and other hardware for you to experiment with.
  • Creative Space - The main area of the ETL is a creative space. It includes four workstations, a paper prototyping kit, some virtual reality headsets, white boards, and configurable tables.
  • TestLab - The ETL has a separate, reservable lab space that you can use to try out technology. It has an HDTV and a smartboard, along with a few computers that can be used for user surveys.
  • Facilities for video conferencing, interactive learning and meeting areas and flexible meeting areas - offering versatility for any gathering or technology project.
  • Equipment rental service for items such as headphones, digital cameras and laptops - students can rent items for a 24 hour period of time.
  • Podcasting, microphones, camcorders, digital cameras, scanners, Smartboards and the latest in computer equipment to support multimedia activities.

Both technological novices and experts are invited to visit. The lounge is staffed by experts available to assist you.
