Fall Career Fair Employer Information

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 1 – 5:30 p.m. at Millett Hall

Registration

Based on employer and student feedback, Miami University has chosen to change the software used for on-campus recruiting and career fair maintenance from Symplicity to Handshake. Please register for the 2017 Fall Career Fair event by accessing your Miami University Handshake account.

  • If you do not have a Handshake account, please follow these instructions to create your Handshake account.
  • If you already have a Handshake account, registration for the Fall Career Fair is now available.
  • Be careful to fill out the details completely, as your information will be available online exactly as you submit it.
  • We reserve the right to edit employer descriptions for purposes of brevity in our various communication channels.
  • A confirmation will be sent via e-mail within a few days of your completed registration.

Information

  • Registration of $500 includes a six-foot table and four lunch tickets.
  • Extra tables are available, in limited number, for $200 each. We recommend organizations with more than four representatives purchase an extra table.
  • We suggest you coordinate your efforts among the various divisions within your organization that may have also have received an invitation. It is preferable for an organization to have an extra table rather than registering separately by division. Unfortunately, additional tables cannot be added the day of the fair.
  • The Center for Career Exploration & Success will publicize your organization’s participation and supply you with a table, table cloth, sign, and light refreshments.

Career Fair Luncheon

  • A buffet luncheon will be available at Gross Student Center (adjacent to Millett Hall) between 11 – 1 p.m.
  • The luncheon is a networking opportunity with other employers, select faculty, and academic Deans.
  • Four tickets to the Career Fair Luncheon are included with each registration. Additional lunch tickets are available for $20/person.
  • The Career Fair Luncheon is optional.

Career Fair Payments

Registration

  • $500 for all for-profit organizations
  • $200 for non-profit organizations
  • Complementary registration for armed forces and law enforcement agencies

Extra Tables – $200 each
Advertising – $100 for an in-App advertisement (see ADVERTISING specifications below)
Electricity – $100
Additional Lunches – $20/person

Payment can be made by credit card at the time of registration. If credit card information is entered with your registration, a receipt will be attached to the confirmation. Credit card information can also be entered online at a later date by logging into Handshake, Miami’s online recruiting and advising system.

If paying by check, please include a copy of your invoice with your payment.

Cancellation / Reimbursement of Fees

If you find it necessary to cancel your registration, we understand completely.  However, in order for your registration fee to be reimbursed or cancelled in full, it is necessary for you to advise us before the fair details are confirmed.  To receive a full reimbursement or cancellation of applicable registration fees, please cancel no later than Wednesday, August 30th

Advertising

To better help student research and discover the location of employer tables at the Fall Career Fair, the Center for Career Exploration & Success is using a third-party app called The Fairs App. Advertising with The Fairs App operates with two distinct, circulating banner advertisements:

  • one communicated via a web interface (accessible by laptops and desktop computers); dimensions are 728px X 90px in .PNG or .JPG format
  • one communicated by a mobile app interface (for Android and Apple smartphones); dimensions are 320px X 50px in .PNG or .JPG format

We urge logo and photo design only as content may be difficult to read on smartphones. Cost of advertising is $100. Please submit all artwork to Craig Patrick at Craig.Patrick@MiamiOH.edu.

Packages must arrive at Miami University by September 12.

Return Shipping

For return shipping (carrier of your choice) the day after the Career Fair, you must have a completed appropriate mailing label to attach to the shipment. Pick-up of items will be on Thursday, September 14. Due to the large volume of items, actual shipment by carriers may be delayed a day or two.

  • If you wish to participate in the Interview Day at Millett on September 14 (the day after the Career Fair), simply send an e-mail to Crissy Jessie at MiamiRecruiting@MiamiOH.edu.
  • For other recruiting options, including Info Sessions, please refer to Handshake.
  • Fall recruitment begins on September 15th. If you wish to schedule interviews in the Career Center this fall, submit on-campus recruiting (OCR) requests via Handshake.
