Biography

Dr. Chaitanya "Chai" Sambhara joined the Miami University faculty in fall 2015. He graduated with a PhD in Information Systems and Process Innovation in summer 2015, and master’s degree in Computer Science in Fall 2008, both from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Sambhara's research examines the business value of Information Technology investments where he studies how IT implementation and use can solve problems pertaining to firms’ accounting, finance, and supply chain problems. Specifically, Dr. Sambhara's research investigates how the implementation and use of enterprise systems, along with complementary resources and capabilities, can a) improve business processes, b) strengthen internal and external controls, c) mitigate process and firm level risks, and d) lead to higher profitability and firm performance.

Dr. Sambhara's has work experience in IT and operations in manufacturing, railroad, telecommunications, aviation, and healthcare industries. He has worked as a programmer, database administrator and procurement analyst. His teaching experience includes a programming course in Java at Georgia State University for which he received the year 2013 GTA teaching excellence award for his outstanding teaching performance at J. Mack Robinson College of Business (RCB), Georgia State University.
