About AlcoholEdu for College

AlcoholEdu is a two-hour alcohol educational course required for all incoming first-year students. Used by over 500 institutions around the country, AlcoholEdu applies science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. First-year students receive information about AlcoholEdu during orientation and mailings over the summer.

About Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates

Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU) is an interactive online course that uses a population-level approach to educate all students on the issues associated with sexual assault and interpersonal violence. SAPU helps students learn about healthy relationships, consent, and creating a positive, safe campus community.

Miami University requires each member of the first-year class to complete SAPU as a component of the educational requirements of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (“VAWA”), signed into law on March 7, 2014. First-year students receive information about SAPU during orientation and mailings over the summer.

About Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Students

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Students (DEI) introduces students to key concepts related to inclusive excellence. The online program covers topics like identity, power, privilege, and oppression, as well as strategies related to ally behavior, respectful communication, self-care, and creating inclusive spaces. By building competencies around emotional intelligence via interactive scenarios and case studies, the course communicates the expectation that students will be engaged members of a diverse and inclusive community, while providing important tools they can use on their journey.
