Literary London 2017 offers new courses and internship opportunities in one of the world's cultural capitals

Shideler Hall to showcase exciting renovations and career opportunities with alumni workshops, keynote speakers, and ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct 10-13
Although the recently renovated Shideler Hall has been open for classes in the interdisciplinary geosciences since this past January, a special series of presentations and activities for 4 days this month will officially introduce its expanded and enhanced collaborative spaces for teaching and research to the general public

Discover the Sciences event highlights CAS math and natural science offerings for prospective students
High school students interested in majoring in math and science had the opportunity to attend the annual Discover the Sciences program on September 10 to learn more about the state-of-the-art mathematical and natural science programs in Miami’s College of Arts and Science (CAS)

LSAMP Program at Miami receives its largest group yet of minority students pursuing the STEM fields
August 23 marked the end of Miami's third annual early arrival program for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), which is a federally funded initiative to promote engagement and success of minority students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields

SEA Miami offers students an immersive educational voyage in the Caribbean during January 2017
This upcoming winter term, Miami students will have the opportunity to escape from Ohio's icy temperatures to immerse themselves in oceanic sciences and maritime history aboard the SSV Corwith Cramer, a research sailing vessel departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico in the sunny Caribbean

CAS Alums Bringing Home the Gold in 18 of the Last 9 Ceremony
While American athletes were off in Rio earning gold medals in the Olympics, Miami began celebrating its own "gold medalists" in the form of successful alum. On Friday, October 28, 18 Miami alumni are being honored on campus with the "18 of the Last 9" Young Alumni Award

Students flock to new Film Studies co-major
Since its inception in fall 2015, Miami's new Film Studies co-major has already attracted 20 students, with more expected in the near future. The co-major, which students pair with a major in another department, explores topics such as film history, global cinemas, and film theory
