Once they are admitted to the ACE Program, students are considered "conditionally admitted" to Miami. They have all privileges and rights of other Miami students, and they can access all campus facilities. Once they complete the requirements of the ACE Program, students are fully admitted to Miami University.

Conditional Admission

Students admitted into the ACE program are conditionally admitted to Miami University. This means that the students have all the privileges and rights of other Miami students. However, ACE students must complete the requirements of ACE program in order to receive full enrollment at the University.

To move from conditional admission to full admission:

  • Undergraduate students
    • Must earn a B- or higher in each of the two required English language courses (ACE 112 and ACE 113).
    • Must earn a C or higher in the American Culture Course.
  • Graduate students:
    • Must earn a B or higher in ACE courses
    • Must take the SPEAK test upon completion of ACE

Orientation and Transition

ACE Orientation extends across a student's experience in ACE. On campus, students will participate in workshops and ACE-specific programming related to campus life, academic life, and health and wellness. These workshops will support student engagement at Miami. Some key parts of this orientation are an off-campus fall retreat in in the middle of the semester as well as a specialized advising where ACE students can talk with all Miami divisions about potential majors and courses for the next semester.
