Global Field Program student/alum and Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) members, Chris Corpus and Angelina Komatovich, along with past EE instructor Dr. James Danoff-Burg and Aquarium of the Pacific education director David Bader, are featured in AZA’s Connect magazine for their conservation tattoo fundraising work. Local tattoo artists created designs for the vaquita and other threatened species, and the first Tattoo for Conservation event was held. The event, which has inspired other conservation tattoo fundraisers, raised more than $6,500 for Vaquita SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction).”
