Miami University graduate student Allyson Gaarder of Big Bear City, California, created a master’s project on lithium resources for electric vehicles, which was featured in a Spring 2022 newsletter of the American Energy Society, a professional association dedicated to the advancement of abundant, affordable and safe energy. The article garnered worldwide interest with remarks from energy and mining experts, regulatory compliance consultants, policy influencers, and business leaders.

Gaarder is earning a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in the biological sciences from Miami University through Project Dragonfly‘s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) with experiential learning at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.
