Current Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) student Christine Peralta of Brooklyn, New York, wrote an op-ed for the Bushwick Daily newspaper. In a "Letter from a (NYCHA) Occupant" she shares how she approaches "each hurricane season with a new trepidation" as "seemingly distant environmental issues" impact her and other community members' everyday lives. Peralta's experiential learning takes place at the Wildlife Conservation Society's Bronx Zoo.
As a student in Miami's biology department, Peralta is earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Biology through Project Dragonfly's AIP while working as the education manager at Prospect Park Zoo.
