Dr. Munday will join Miami University in August 2017 after six years as a research-track faculty member at the University of Cincinnati.

He is committed to equipping his students with the practical tools to solve real-world problems while insuring that they understand how these tools are related to understandable physical principles.

His research interests lie generally in experimental fluid mechanics including heat transfer, combustion, detonations (pulsed detonation engines and rotating detonation engines), turbine aerodynamics and cooling, aeroacoustics, aerospace propulsion, flow control and cool things that fly.

He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education and the American Physical Society.

He has published papers in Physics of Fluids, AIAA Journal, Journal of Turbomachinery, Journal of Propulsion and Power, Applied Thermal Engineering, Naval Engineers Journal, International Journal of Aeroacoustics, Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power and Journal of Aircraft.

His work has been sponsored by General Electric, Halliburton, Innovative Scientific Solutions, Inc., United Technologies Aerospace Systems, the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Office of Naval Research.
