Beena Sukumaran, Ph.D., the Dinesh and ILA Paliwal Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing, was recently featured in Cincinnati Magazine. In the published piece, Dean Sukumaran reflected on gender parity in engineering and computer science fields.

In a world where women currently make up only 34 percent of the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workforce and only 16 percent of the engineering workforce, the article emphasizes the steady efforts CEC has made towared gender parity under Dean Sukumaran's leadership.

"Last year, Miami’s College of Engineering and Computing student body was made up of 21 percent women.
