The Miami University Commuter Center, located in 2045 Armstrong Student Center, serves as a resource for students who commute to the Oxford campus from the surrounding area. The center is located on the second floor, near the Smucker Wiikiaami Room. The Commuter Center is only open during the fall and spring semesters.
The Commuter Center strives to promote an environment that is welcoming and conducive to community building and academic achievement. In addition to a friendly atmosphere, the center provides a variety of services and resources, including a charging station and comfortable seating.
Commuter Center Assistants (CCAs) staff the center between 15 and 20 hours a week. In addition to providing oversight and making improvements to the center, they register students for the free lockers, answer questions, and plan programs.
The Commuter Center offers free lockers to all students. You must request access and use a lock provided by the center. Students can use the locker for the entire semester and can re-check out a locker for each semester they are enrolled in classes. If a locker is not cleaned out by the end of the semester, students are responsible for a $25 fee for having the lock cut and removed.
The Commuter Center is open to all students from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday during the fall and spring semesters. Only commuter students have access to the space (with their Miami ID card) between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. Many commuters consider the space to be a "home base" for studying, eating, socializing, charging phones and tablets, and more.
Visit the Commuter Center Policy Page for more information about the center and expectations regarding the use of the space.

An affidavit is required for students who are applying for exemption based on commuting from their residence with a parent/guardian, spouse, or dependent child/children.
