Our Mission

The mission of the Athletic Training Program (ATP) at Miami University is to prepare educated professional athletic trainers through academic and clinical education in which students develop competency and proficiency of entry-level skills for successful completion of the Board of Certification (BOC) examination and placement within the athletic training profession. We seek to advance highly competent healthcare providers who integrate current evidence, clinical expertise, and patient values in practice.

What our graduates are saying about Miami's Athletic Training program:

Madeline Tobler, 2021

"Choosing to get my athletic training degree from Miami University was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The program made me feel extremely ready and prepared to work as a full-time collegiate athletic trainer only a few months after graduating."

Caitlyn Wilson, 2020

“We had an interactive and challenging classroom setting where the professors allowed us autonomy on how to best learn the subject material while working with the preceptors on campus to allow us to integrate the materials that we learn into real situations in the athletic training room. Miami is the place to not only learn the material but to get real-life experiences before you even graduate.”

Quentin Mullen, 2017

“The ATEP at Miami equipped me with the knowledge and skills to become a practicing Athletic Trainer through a unique program. I truly found my calling through the education program, academic faculty and athletics staff at Miami University.”

Stephanie Raudenbush, 2017

“My time at Miami University in the Athletic Training Education Program was one of a kind. The Miami family is an incredible network of supportive individuals whose greatest goal is growing and shaping future professionals that they are proud to tack the name onto.”
