Master of Accountancy (MAcc)

Our Master of Accountancy Program is more than just accounting. We prepare you for leadership roles in a broad range of careers. In addition to pursuing careers in traditional public accounting service lines such as audit and tax, our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in business risk services, fraud investigation, business valuation, forensic accounting, systems & process assurance, and investment banking.
The Master of Accountancy program is populated with both traditional graduate students (i.e. 5th year students who previously completed a Bachelor degree) and 3+1 Combined Bachelor/Masters students.
We pride ourselves on student interaction and involvement in the classroom experience. Through our small, highly-selective program, you will develop a lifetime network of friends in accounting-related fields. We limit enrollment to 50-55 outstanding applicants, which allows us to 1) focus on the close-knit community of scholars and professors developed through our program and 2) build upon that competitive advantage in the saturated market of MAcc programs. As a student in our program, you will not feel like “just a number.”
With the Master of Accountancy program, you can walk away with abilities that are essential no matter your career aspirations, such as:
- Deeply understanding measurement and reporting so you will be a business partner in driving strategy, innovation and high performance
- Successfully wrangling with unstructured, ambiguous decisions
- Transforming data into useful information for business decision-making
- Effectively communicating with stakeholders inside and outside of organizations to help tell the right stories
- Using sound judgment and impeccable integrity in decision-making and interactions with others

"Miami’s accounting program laid the strong technical foundation that helped me launch my career in public accounting. Additionally, the program’s focus on team-based projects helped prepare me for working on and leading complex teams in a professional setting." - Jennifer Burgas, Internal Audit Director, Fifth Third Bank
