Thank you for your interest in joining the fraternity and sorority community at Miami.
Only the fall 2024 GPA will count towards recruitment eligibility (for first years students). Cumulative college GPA will be reviewed for sophomores and above. Winter Term/J-Term 2025 grades will NOT count for any individual regardless of year in school. The description below outlines the process for students who are currently contesting/appealing a fall 2024 grade for reasons including but not limited to: medical withdrawal, medical emergencies, family emergencies, etc.
The Panhellenic Association and Interfraternity Council, in partnership with the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, will evaluate grade contesters/appeals on a case by case basis. We will work with students and faculty members through this process. Students will not be allowed to begin the recruitment process if we do not have confirmation from faculty that they are working on the grade being contested by the deadlines listed below. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure all faculty confirmations are received before the deadlines below. Grade change correspondence received after the deadlines will not be considered.
Send all communication to Alyssa Ciango at ciangoak@MiamiOH.edu.
Grade Contesting Faculty Confirmations must be received in order to be allowed to be approved to begin the recruitment process. Please have your faculty member send a note to Alyssa saying they have received your appeal for a grade change.
Grade changes and credit hours must be processed in the registrar's system to be allowed to participate in the third round, preference night, and complete the sorority recruitment process. Grade and credit hour contesters will be confirmed through the Office of the Registrar and students not eligible will be notified by the Panhellenic Association.
Send all communication to Colton Johnson at john1859@miamioh.edu.
