Held in April each year, Greek Spring Service brings fraternity and sorority members together to perform volunteer clean up in the Oxford area and beyond. Local officials and hundreds of Greek Life students work with Hueston Woods State Park, Matthew 25 Ministries in Cincinnati, and Butler County Metro Parks to assist those in need, while continuing to build the relationships between Miami students and Oxford residents.
The Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service is committed to making both community service and service-learning focal points of the undergraduate experience. We endeavor to develop and provide resources to assist students, faculty, and staff who wish to engage in community service and service-learning projects.
The implementation of Miami's "Adopt-A-School" Program continues to profoundly impact the Oxford community. The program was initiated in the Fall of 1989 by the Fraternity/Sorority Community to aid the Talawanda School District in their efforts to maintain excellent educational programs for the community's young people. Students serve as tutors in the classroom and become role models for the students with whom they work.
