Miami University Police

The Miami University Police Department (MUPD) is composed of 29 sworn police officers commissioned by the State of Ohio, 6 communication specialists, and 4 civilian support staff. Our mission is to maintain a safe community through collaboration, service, protection, and enforcement with the goal of achieving a collective vision for a better future.

Community Policing

Ensuring the safety and well-being of the community, the Miami University Police Department takes pride in providing a diverse range of services on a regular basis.

Emergency Procedures and Contacts

In the event of a natural disaster or large-scale emergency, Miami will use its Emergency Notification System to communicate emergency information. This may include texts, emails, VoIP phone messages, computer screen alerts, and more. Depending on the situation, emails could also be sent to the emergency contacts (parents, guardians) that students have specified.
