Tree removal on the Farmer School of Business lawn during winter break

Two of the large sweetgum trees in the front lawn of the Farmer School of Business have been determined to be “high risk” safety concerns and need to be removed. This has been confirmed with an independent arborist. Due to the size and complexity of the removal of these trees, we will plan on removing the two trees during this winter break.

  1. Contractor to remove two sweetgums during the first week of winter break.
  2. Grind stumps, backfill with soil and sod disturbed areas.
  3. Plant two oak trees (3-4” caliper) in the lawn area before the end of break.
