Student Spotlight: Staci Barrow
At the age of fifteen, Staci Barrow started working at the Lodder's Plaza Animal Clinic and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Now she's following that dream! Staci, a graduate of Ross High School and student at Miami University Regionals, was recently accepted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. The school is located on St. Kitts Island in the West Indies.

Alumni Spotlight: Jeanne (Hacker) Pence '76
Since Jeanne (Hacker) Pence graduated from Miami Regionals' Middletown campus in 1976, she has worn many different hats. From being a registered nurse for 38 years to being a Nebraska State Senator for 4 years, Pence has led a fascinating and productive professional life. As she explains it, "If the door was open, I walked through it."

You might consider Dr. Caryn Neumann a rookie comic-con enthusiast, but she has certainly taken an interest in the increased attention on comic book culture. She has taken such an interest in fact that she offered a course, 'Comics in American Culture,' this spring.

For anyone who has had any level of interaction with Jackie, they can attest to her infectious smile and her desire to make others feel important. We all know Jackie Phillips as the City of Middletown Health Commissioner--we see her name on anything from vending machine certifications, school cafeteria inspection sheets, and community-related health projects--but she is also a 2004 Miami Regionals BSN graduate with a truly inspiring story.
