Miami Middletown Rising Scholarship

The Miami Middletown Rising scholarship offers free tuition for an associate or bachelor’s degree from Miami University Regionals for students who live in the city of Middletown.

How It Works

The Miami Middletown Rising scholarship will cover the cost of tuition and fees after financial aid for eligible students. The scholarship will be available for up to eight consecutive semesters during fall and spring semester classes. 

Miami University Regionals will award the Miami Middletown Rising Scholarship beginning in fall semester 2025.

Minimum Requirements to Qualify

  • First-time new undergraduate student enrolling at Miami University Regionals full-time (12 credit hours or more) following high school graduation
  • Lived (has a primary, permanent address) in the city of Middletown during all four years of high school
  • Attended all four years at Marshall High School in Middletown, Middletown High School, Middletown Christian High School, Bishop Fenwick High School, or Butler Tech from Middletown City School District or a combination in grades 9-12 and graduated
    • GED recipients and Homeschoolers do not qualify
    • Early high school graduates will qualify in the fall semester following graduation
  • Cumulative high school GPA of 2.5+ (unweighted)
  • Complete and submit the Miami University Regionals Admission Application by April 1, 2025
    • A complete Admission application includes Miami Regionals Admission application and an official high school transcript
    • A separate scholarship application and ACT/SAT scores are not required. However, please note that submitting ACT/SAT scores could qualify you for additional scholarship opportunities
    • If you have already applied for the fall 2025 term at Miami Regionals, there is no need to submit another application
  • Complete and submit the 25-26 FAFSA (Miami’s School Code is 003077) to Miami University Regionals by April 1, 2025
  • Eligible for the Pell Grant (determined by the FAFSA)

Scholarship Renewal Requirements

  • The scholarship may be renewed for up to eight consecutive semesters
  • Full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more) as a Miami University Regionals student each semester. Students may take courses towards their degree in Oxford, however 51% of courses each semester must be taken at Regionals campuses to maintain eligibility.
  • Maintain an annual cumulative Miami University GPA of 2.0+
  • Maintain Pell Grant eligibility each year
  • Maintain a primary residence in the approved city limits

Miami University Regionals is dedicated to the success of the students participating in the Miami Middletown Rising and will assist students in finding services like TRIO Student Support ServicesAcademic Advising and Course Planning, Career Services, Counseling Services, Tutoring, and much more! In addition to celebrating each of our new cohorts with an awards ceremony, Miami University Regionals will support students, check in on their progress, and help them reach their goals and their graduation day.
