About

The Paper Science & Engineering Foundation at Miami University supports the Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering (CPB) Department by providing scholarships and work experience opportunities to students studying for careers of leadership in the pulp and paper industry. The PS&E Foundation was founded in 1960 through the generous donations of several local paper mills and corporations who wanted to ensure the education of future of paper engineers.

Mission

It is the mission of the Foundation to support the Miami University Chemical, Paper, and Biomedical Engineering Department in attracting and preparing talented and highly motivated men and women for careers of leadership within the pulp, paper, and affiliated industries. This will be accomplished by providing scholarships and work experience opportunities to students, support to faculty, enhancements to department facilities, and by demonstrating the value of the program to the industry.

Jobs in Industry

The PSE program track boasts high rates of placement for graduates that minor or focus in Paper Science with Chemical Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering degrees, and at some of the highest starting salaries across campus. The PS&E Foundation augments the academic curriculum delivered by the CPB department by providing the little things that make a big difference to the students: merit based scholarships and key networking contacts to get great jobs.

Membership

The PSE Foundation depends on annual memberships, both individual and corporate, for the funding needed to support our scholarship program, the paper technology faculty of the CPB Department, and the lab and testing facilities that are among the best in the nation for paper technology. We are challenged to increase our support of students who will elect to study for careers in the paper industry. We would ask that you please consider becoming annual member or making a generous donation so that together we can succeed in our mission. Online giving is fast, secure and easy.
