January Program News

Academic Terms

When considering matters related to course registration dates and deadlines, it's important to note that the SEOH program courses do not coincide with the university's full term calendar. For example, the university's full spring term begins January 25, while the SEOH spring term does not begin until March 7.

With the exception of the winter term, the SEOH program operates in a more condensed time frame. These courses are called sprint courses. The SEOH spring term dates and deadlines follow the "W-term" sprint schedule. You may find the entire Miami University 2015-2016 academic calendar online.

Spring Registration

Many of you have already registered for the spring semester. For those of you who haven't yet registered, you may do so online through March 8. Please note that for students who need one or more of the elective reading courses (EDT prefix) to fulfill their licensure requirement, EDT 642 is offered in the spring term. Please consult your program plan of study to confirm which courses are needed to satisfy your individual program requirements.

Attendance Policy

The cold and flu season is well underway in southwest Ohio. If you haven’t yet gotten sick, you’ve likely had a family member who hasn’t been as fortunate. Please remember that attendance is required and class participation points may be at stake. Therefore , if you ever need to miss a live session for illness or another emergency, you have responsib ilities regarding your absence per the SEOH Student Handbook attendance policy.
