Howard Dean headlines the Harry T. Wilks Distinguished Lecture Series 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Parrish Auditorium, at Miami University Hamilton. His topic: "RX for Real Healthcare." A reception and book signing will follow on the Parrish stage.

Dean is a physician, former presidential candidate and six-term governor of Vermont who also served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He currently works as an independent consultant focusing on healthcare, early childhood development and alternative energy. Dean also currently serves as a CNBC contributor. He is the founder of Democracy for America.

Dean graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s of arts in political science in 1971, and received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in 1978.
