RedHawk Ready

Prepare for a Successful Start to Your Miami Education

At Miami, we have a RedHawk Ready mindset. That means we will guide you through your transition to the university with resources and programming to give you a rock-solid foundation for success at Miami and beyond.

Here’s how you can be RedHawk Ready, too!

Complete Admitted Student Tasks

Once you’ve decided to become a RedHawk, it’s essential to meet deadlines and take action on these important steps (if you haven’t already):

Submit your housing contract

Miami’s housing contract is available 24 hours after you accept your admission offer. May 19 is the extended deadline for 2024.

Register for orientation

Orientation registration opened March 13 and is available 36 hours after you accept your admission offer.

Get Psyched for Orientation, Welcome Weekend, First 50 Days

Orientation and other RedHawk Ready activities begin in May and continue well into your first semester on campus. Make the most of programming and resources, which are designed with your long-term success in mind.

Fall Semester Orientation

You’ll take online prep modules before (and after) your on-campus orientation session. Then prepare for your overnight, on-campus orientation session. It’s 1.5 days of exploring Miami and preparing for you to hit the ground running when classes start in August. You can even spend the night in a residence hall!

Welcome Weekend and First 50 Days

During your first days and weeks at Miami, you will shrug off any new student jitters as you get familiar with campus, establish your routine, and connect with your people.

Fall semester is jam packed with opportunities to plug into our campus community. Of course there will be food, fun, and freebies, but there’s so much more than that. From large-scale events to smaller interest-based activities, you’ll choose from among wellness, academic, and social programming that will support your continued transition to college.
