Make an Appointment

The College of Arts & Science and University Studies Academic Advising Office remains open and able to assist students with their advising and registration needs. However, some of our processes will need to change as we consider the health and wellbeing of the Miami University community in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We will not be offering drop-in advising during this registration period; all advising will take place by appointment. Appointments will be conducted by video call using Google Chat, an online platform to which all Miami University students have access. A camera is not required to use this platform.

  • Users who anticipate or experience a disability related barrier to using Google Chat are encouraged to contact sds@MiamiOH.edu to request reasonable accommodation. Webex may be used as an alternative platform for hearing accommodations.
  • If you are unable to access Google, please contact us (513-529-3031) to request an appointment via a different medium.

If you do not currently have a declared major in the College of Arts and Science, please contact us (513-529-3031) to request an appointment, as our online system will not allow you access to our schedules.

CAS Declared Majors and University Studies Students Scheduling an Appointment

To schedule an appointment, visit MiamiOH.campus.eab.com:

  • Choose "Schedule an Appointment," located beneath the Miami University logo.
  • Under Appointment Type, select "Advising & Academic Support."
  • Under Location, select "Oxford - College of Arts and Sciences Appointment."
  • Under options, select "CAS - General Advising."
  • Choose "Next," located on the bottom, right of the window.
  • Confirm the location as "College of Arts and Science Advising Office - 146 Upham Hall."
  • Select an advisor:
    • If there is a specific advisor with whom you would like to meet, choose the box "Any Staff" and then select the advisor's name from the list. His/her name should populate the box, then choose "Next."
    • If you do not have a preferred advisor or would like to see a wider range of appointment times, choose "Next."
  • You will now select the date and time of day for your appointment. Once you have done so, choose "Next" to continue.
  • The next page will outline the details of your appointment. Please add your telephone number to the box on the bottom left, as well as a note indicating what you would like to discuss.
  • Choose "Confirm Appointment" to finalize the appointment.

Reminder, your appointment call will take place via Google Chat unless you have made alternative arrangements.

Instructions for Joining a Google Chat Appointment

5 minutes prior to your appointment, go to chat.google.com:

  • Choose "Sign In" to login to your Miami Gmail account.
  • You will receive an invitation to chat from the advisor.
  • Open the invitation and select "Accept."
  • Once accepted, the advisor will request that you join a video call via the chat.
  • Open the video call by clicking on the "Join Video Meeting" icon.
  • Choose "Join Now" to begin the call from the "Ready to Join?" menu.
  • You will need to "Allow" Google Chat to access your microphone and camera

Cancelling an Appointment

To cancel an appointment, MiamiOH.campus.eab.com:

  • On the right side of the screen, there is a section titled "Upcoming Appointments," and you should see your appointment listed there. Choose "CAS - General Advising" to access the appointment information.
  • In the bottom, left of the "Manage Appointment" dialogue box, choose "Cancel My Attendance."
  • Select a reason from the drop-down and enter any comments.
  • Choose "Mark As Cancelled."

Rescheduling an Appointment

Follow the instructions for cancelling your original appointment, then schedule a new appointment using the instructions above.
