Meet with a CAS Advisor

The College of Arts and Science (CAS) Advising Office offers both scheduled appointments and virtual drop-in advising via Zoom (i.e., no appointment needed).

  • Prospective students should schedule an appointment by calling the office at 513-529-3031.
  • Current students at Miami Regionals who are changing their primary campus to Oxford should schedule an appointment by calling the office at 513-529-3031.
  • Current students with majors in CAS, and those undeclared but interested in CAS, may choose between a scheduled appointment and a virtual drop-in.  Please read the information below to understand which meeting type best fits your needs.
  • Students with majors outside of CAS must utilize the drop-in advising option.

Please Note

  • Users who anticipate or experience a disability-related barrier to using Zoom are encouraged to contact sds@MiamiOH.edu to request a reasonable accommodation. Webex may be used as an alternative platform for hearing accommodations.
  • If you are unable to access Zoom, please contact us (513-529-3031) to request an appointment via a different platform.

Scheduled Appointments

First- and Second-Year Students - Meetings are to be with your assigned CAS advisor.

Junior and Senior Students - You first should have connected with your assigned faculty advisor. Scheduled appointments will be held either in-person or virtually through Zoom and all appointment times are Eastern Time.  When scheduling your appointment in Navigate, please select the modality that fits your preference for the appointment.

Plan ahead! During peak advising times (October-November, March-April, and June), students should plan to schedule an advising appointment two or more weeks in advance.

Instructions are provided below to Schedule and/or Cancel an Appointment

Drop-In Advising

Drop-in advising takes place via Zoom and does not require a scheduled appointment.  Instead, during scheduled drop-in advising hours, you check in for drop-in advising when you are available to meet with an advisor.  Because you do not have a scheduled appointment time, you may have to wait until an advisor becomes available.  Please be aware that during peak times, there could be a significant wait time or you may be asked to attend drop-ins another day depending on the student volume in the waiting queue.
