Earth Expeditions: Belize Student Reflection

Global Field Program student Kayla Clark shares her experiences and memories of the 2021 Earth Expeditions: Belize course in “Belize Bites – Recipes in Resilience.”

“I am a saltwater human through and through so I was surprised that the parts of the trip that most impacted me were inland and not in the clear blue ocean water. As part of the course our group visited the Community Baboon Sanctuary for several days. The sanctuary is completely voluntary, with landowners pledging to leave a certain amount of riverside forest intact on their property. Many of the landowners have small farms, called milpas.”
