Reflection from Marsha SisneyAIP site: Chicago Zoological Society - Brookfield Zoo

Miami University graduate Marsha Sisney M.A. ‘18 of Chicago, Illinois, reflects on her master’s journey in Project Dragonfly‘s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP).

"This graduate program ... presented me with a passport to lead a purposeful life and strengthen my connections to the natural world," said Marsha. "I capitalized on the opportunities to expand my knowledge base and work alongside stellar individuals who shared similar passions for protecting and preserving the natural environment. The project-based activities opened up a world of opportunities for me to explore and inspire others to establish connections with nature. In essence, the new experiences took my passion for ocean stewardship to a whole new level."

Sisney earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in the biological sciences from Miami University through the AIP while working as a learning specialist at Shedd Aquarium. Sisney took Miami web-based classes while participating in unique learning experiences on the grounds of Brookfield Zoo and in natural settings around Illinois. Sisney also traveled to Australia with Earth Expeditions (EE) and applied the Australia course toward her AIP master's degree.
