Miami CEC graduate student Serhii Reznichenko named finalist ahead of annual Heart Rhythm Society conference

Shijie Zhou, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Chemical, Paper, and Biomedical Engineering, and his research team have recently been recognized for excellence in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. 

Under Zhou’s leadership, the team submitted three abstracts to the highly competitive Heart Rhythm Society Annual Conference, with two securing acceptance. This achievement is especially impressive considering the conference's stringent selection process, where only a small fraction of the numerous submissions are accepted. 

Serhii Reznichenko, a graduate student on Zhou’s research team and the first author of the abstract titled "AI-based QRS Onset Detection in Paced QRS ECGs: Preliminary Results," has received particular recognition ahead of this year’s conference. Beyond the conference acceptance, Serhii has been honored as a finalist in the prestigious Cardiac Electrophysiology Society (CES) Young Investigator Award Poster Competition.
