Emily Krile, a KNH and FSW Student Produced a Video Featuring Study Abroad Experiences in The Gambia

They studied the social and cultural factors that affect education and health. They also learned the significance of historical events that impact the health of 1.7 million Gambians.

Helping People from All Walks of Life Cope, Confront, and Overcome
“Today was actually pretty good,” says Chelsey Gates. And as someone who often helps people get through their worst days, she is someone who knows when to appreciate the good. Gates is a social worker and outpatient community mental health therapist for Butler Behavioral Health Services. And on this particular day, she had been working with a client who was once a healthy young adult . . . until a car accident caused a traumatic brain injury, vision loss, and impaired cognitive functioning.

Family Science and Social Work Week
Family Science and Social Work Week will be held at Miami University March 5-9 across campus. A wide range of programs will be available and open to all majors, faculty and staff. No registration is required, plus food and giveaways will be available.
