Elizabeth 'Like' Lokon, an educational leadership alumna wins 2018 Bishop Medal
Established in 1936, the Bishop Medal is given to individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to humanity. The award is named in honor of Robert Hamilton Bishop, Miami’s first president.

100 Percent Placement for Dietetic Program Seniors
All 23 dietetic students (100%) were matched with post-baccalaureate dietetic internships.

Dr. Thomas Poetter Appointed Editor of the Journal of Curriculum Theorizing
Dr. Thomas Poetter, Educational Leadership Professor has been appointed as Editor of the Journal of Curriculum Theorizing and President of the Foundation of Curriculum Theory. Dr. Poetter will be building his team to begin work in January 2019.

PEK is the professional fraternity representing students interested in sport, exercise, and health and is housed in the Kinesiology and Health department. The faculty advisor is Dr. Val Freysinger.
