How big is the program? Our program is selective, enrolling approximately 25-30 students. This allows us to keep our class sizes small to enhance faculty-student and student-student interaction and provide students with the best learning experience possible.

Do applicants need recommendations? Two letters of recommendation are required for all applicants not applying for the combined program. Please be sure to contact your intended references prior to requesting online letters. Some people prefer to complete paper recommendations, and some may be unwilling or unable to complete a recommendation for you.

When are applications due? For each academic year, the priority deadline for applicants is January 15. Admission is selective so we recommend that you apply by this date. Applications received after these deadlines will be reviewed on a rolling basis as space in the program remains available.

When are admission decisions made? Complete applications will be reviewed as they are received. A limited number of outstanding applicants will be offered admission on a "rolling" basis. All other admission decisions will be made after February 1, when the applicant pool is identified.

If I e-mail you my profile (GMAT, GPA, TOEFL, etc.) can you evaluate my chances of admission? Like many top graduate business programs in the U.S., we will review all parts of your application before making a decision.  Unfortunately we are not able to evaluate your profile before a complete application is submitted.

Where should I submit my MSBA application? You should apply online at the Miami Graduate School’s website. Applicants will be required to upload their transcript (unofficial), resume, letters of recommendation, and statement of purpose at the time of application.  Letters of recommendation may be sent directly to Lindsey.Holden@miamioh.edu or to the Department of Information Systems and Analytics, 3095 Farmer School of Business, Miami University, Oxford, OH 45056.  Recommendation letters are not required for Maim students applying for the combined Bachelors/Masters program.

Do you require an entrance examination? Entrance examination GMAT and GRE scores are optional; however, we do recommend submitting a strong Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the new Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score.

Can students take graduate courses in their undergraduate program and use them toward the MSBA? Current Miami students pursuing undergraduate programs in Information Systems or Analytics may take up to two of the 500 level courses before enrolling in the MSBA program.

Do you accept students with non-analytics undergraduate degrees? Absolutely.  Our program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in any field from an accredited four-year university.  There is a prerequisite common body of knowledge in analytics.  If this has not been completed during the undergraduate course of study, students can satisfy these requirements during the summer prior to beginning the program.  The fully online undergraduate certificate in Foundations in Analytics will be offered each summer to allow students from any major to successfully gain the common body of knowledge in analytics.  In order to ensure success in the graduate coursework, prerequisite courses must be satisfied prior to beginning the graduate program.
