Biography
Mark Griffiths specializes in the areas of portfolio management, money market microstructure, and financial risk management. In 2004, he was named the Jack Anderson Professor of Finance, coming to the Richard T. Farmer School of Business from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management. He has also served on the faculties of the Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Canada, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Lehigh University, Texas A&M University, and the Helsinki Graduate School of Business (Institute for Public Policy Studies) in Seoul, Korea.
The recipient of several awards for innovative teaching and outstanding papers, Dr. Griffiths has published numerous articles in a variety of academic journals including the Journal of Business, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, the Quarterly Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of Financial Services Research, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money.
He received bachelor’s degrees in French and in administrative studies from the University of Western Ontario and from York University, Canada, respectively. He completed an MBA in finance at York University before earning a master’s degree in economics at the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Western Ontario.
