Biography
Mark Lacker
Mark Lacker is the John W. Altman Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Miami University Institute for Entrepreneurship. In that role, he is responsible for the Institute's Startup Entrepreneurship courses, co-curricular programming and internship initiatives.
He has developed or redesigned seven courses and taught a total of twelve different courses in the program. Lacker has been nominated for 15 teaching awards in five categories, receiving the Excellence in Career Development Award in 2017, the Miami University Effective Educator Award in 2016 and the Richard K. Smucker Award for Outstanding Clinical Faculty in 2012. He was selected to give the keynote address at Miami University's December 2016 Commencement.
Lacker has 20 years of entrepreneurial experience and has been involved in three startup organizations. As the founder and president of Sumner Solutions he built a corporate event marketing company that was involved in more than 1500 corporate events.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Management from Miami University and an MBA from Xavier University with a concentration in Management Information Systems. He has served on the advisory board of three startups, as speaker and panelist at numerous events including Techstars FounderCon, and as judge for the Cincinnati Business Courier Innovation Awards.
He currently serves on the Entrepreneur Advisory Committee of the Alloy Growth Lab, a top 10 business incubator, and Advisory Board for the Greater Cincinnati Parkinson Support and Wellness organization.
