Biography
Bill Moser joined the faculty of the Farmer School of Business in August of 2013. Dr. Moser earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2005, his M.A.S. from Northern Illinois University in 1997, and his B.S. in Accounting from Miami University in 1995. Prior to his doctoral work, he was a senior associate at the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP in Chicago working primarily in the middle market group.
Dr. Moser's research examines the relationship between corporate taxes and corporate capital structure and corporate ownership composition. His most recent research examines the relationship between tax aggressiveness and corporate cost of capital. His work has been published in Journal of Accounting Research, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of the American Taxation Association, Review of Accounting Studies and the Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting.
Before joining the faculty at Miami University, Dr. Moser won a number of teaching awards at the University of Missouri, including the Most Outstanding Faculty award (2011), Provost Junior Faculty teaching award (2010), Williams Keepers Teaching Excellence Award (2010), Teacher of the Year from the Kansas City Chapter of the University of Missouri Alumni Association (2007). He was also nominated by the School of Accountancy for the OâBrien teaching award in 2011 and 2012. Dr. Moser is also licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), and is a member of the American Accounting Association and a member of the American Taxation Association.
