Biography
Jason Weimer is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Marketing. He holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Ohio University and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Before completing his dissertation, he worked in sales, marketing, and digital strategy at Scripps/WCPO-Cincinnati. Passionate about teaching and learning, he is dedicated to creating spaces that foster contemplation, inspire self-discovery, and cultivate critical thinking.
His research explores the intersection of digital media and identity, examining how technology shapes self-perception, behavior, and social capital. His work has been published in outlets such as Global Media Journal and Ohio University Press and presented at conferences including Global Fusion, the Ohio Communication Association, the Popular Culture Association, and the Central States Communication Association.
He lives in downtown Cincinnati and enjoys the city's vibrant cultural scene, from sporting events and concerts to museums, parks, and diverse dining experiences. He is also an active volunteer at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and The Hive Center for Contemplative Practices.
