Over Age 26 Dependent

Children can be covered under your Miami health, dental, and vision, and life insurance plans until the end of the month in which they turn 26.

What Happens When My Child Turns 26?

  1. Your child will remain covered under your benefits until the end of the month in which they turn 26 years old. The Benefits Office will notify you the month before your child’s 26th birthday, and the system will automatically remove them from your benefits once they are no longer eligible.
  2. The child will receive enrollment information from our third-party administrator, Chard Snyder, which can take up to 44 days. Contact Chard Snyder with questions: 800-982-7715
  3. The child will no longer be eligible for voluntary life insurance or coverage under family voluntary accidental death insurance.
