Personal Leave
Personal leave may be granted for work-related, personal, or health reasons. Personal leave may only be taken on a full-time basis.
How to Apply
Login to Workday to request a Leave of Absence. Click on your profile and follow the instructions below:
- Select Actions
- Select Request Absence
- In Absence Calendar if your absence will be for a long period of time it's easiest to use the "Select Date Range" button on the top left of the screen and for example, you might input "From" 7/24/2024 "To" 1/24/2025. For shorter periods of time select the dates in the calendar and click on "Request Absence".
- Select Absence Type, then Request Leave of Absence
- Select Personal Leave of Absence
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Miami's employee assistance programs (EAP) offer free and confidential assistance online or over the phone to those who would like help dealing with personal (or work-related) situations. Having a baby, adopting, getting married or divorced, and losing a family member are examples of situations when you may need assistance.
