Butler County Historic Marker Unveiling Ceremony
Several years of work led by Miami University's Truth and Reconciliation Project culminated with a narrative historic marker that is now a permanent fixture in the City of Oxford. An unveiling ceremony was held Monday, June 21, in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park uptown.

Hope Kirby named Astronaut Scholar
Miami University senior microbiology major Hope Kirby has been awarded a scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. She is one of 60 students from 44 universities to receive the award for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Miami researchers optimize new technique for evaluating potential drugs to fight antibiotic-resistant bacteria
"Because metallo-beta-lactamases (which render many clinical strains of bacteria resistant to all penicillin-like antibiotics) contain two metal ions we are able to use a variety of spectroscopic techniques to study them," said Caitlyn Thomas, doctoral candidate in the lab of Michael Crowder.
