I tried to log into myMiami or Canvas, but I am required to use DUO two-factor authentication. How do I set it up for the first time?

To get started, visit MiamiOH.edu/DuoGuide to set up your DUO two-factor authentification for the first time. If you continue experiencing issues, contact Miami's IT Help via phone or live chat.

My phone is broken or lost, so I cannot log into MyMiami or Canvas because of the two-factor authentication.

Follow IT Help's instructions for reactivating DUO on your mobile device. You may also be able to obtain a temporary DUO bypass code by following the instructions in this article.

Where can I find and access my online courses?

To find and access your online courses, log into myMiami with your Miami credentials and click the "Canvas" icon to the left. You can also visit MiamiOH.edu/canvas.

I am trying to log into myMiami for the first time. What is my Unique ID and password?

I have registered for an online course, but I cannot find it on Canvas.

If the course doesn't appear on your Canvas dashboard, click the "Courses" tab on the left navigation and click the "All Courses" link. If the course still doesn't appear, please reach out to your instructor to make sure the course is published.

How do I record video or audio and upload it to Canvas?

Some instructors may ask you to record and upload video/audio for a course assignment. You can use the "My Media" tab in the Canvas course to upload, store, and publish your videos. Access My Media from the left-hand navigation in the course. You may also use the Canvas video instructions on our current student resources page.

I have a problem taking a proctored exam in my online course.

I have a problem joining a Zoom meeting.

To fully participate in Zoom meetings, you will need to join through your Miami account instead of a personal one or when you're not logged in to Zoom at all. Please follow the Zoom setup and troubleshooting tips on our resource page.
