Take all or the majority of your classes on the opposite campus (Regional to Oxford) or (Oxford to Regional)

Miami students may take classes on other campuses. Students who wish to fully change campuses submit the Change of Campus form. Students who wish to take only a few classes at another campus submit the Permission to Register form. Tuition is determined by the campus with the highest credit hour registration. However, Oxford students who register for more hours at Regionals without officially changing their campus will continue to pay Oxford fees.

Are you planning to take classes on another campus next semester?

Permission to Register:

Only take 1-2 class in Oxford.

The majority of your classes are Regional.

Full Change of Campus:

Regional Students Taking Classes at the Oxford Campus

Regional campus students who want to take classes at the Oxford campus need to submit one of two forms in the Change of Campus and Permission to Register portal:

  • Permission to Register: Regional students can take up to half your credit hours each semester in Oxford and still be considered a regional campus student, allowing you to continue to pay regional tuition and fees.
  • Change of Campus: Switch to Oxford if you want to take all or most of your courses through the main campus.
    • Note: QHI International Students have a one year housing contract that cannot be broken mid-academic year.

To qualify for either option, you must meet these minimum criteria:

  • Complete at least 16 graded credit hours at a Miami University Regional campus in 100+ level courses. This doesn't include College Credit Plus, AP, CLEP, credit/no-credit, ACE courses, or transfer credits.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Have an acceptable conduct record.

Winter term grades are not posted in time to count toward the spring semester's requirements.

  • The forms become available when the class schedule is posted
    • For Fall Semester or Summer Term, submit your request in mid-March.
    • For Spring Semester or Winter Term, submit your request in mid-October.
  • Forms are processed once Time Tickets are viewable. Refer to the Academic Calendar for dates.

Partial Change of Campus

Permission to Register

This option allows you to take up to half of your credit hours on the Oxford campus while taking at least half of your classes at the Regional campuses, all while continuing to pay Regional tuition rates.

How to Register:
  1. Submit Your Request: When filling out the form, you may request permission for more Oxford classes than you plan to take. This is a safeguard in case desired classes fill up before your registration window opens.
  2. Receive Confirmation: Once your form is processed, you will get a confirmation email sent to your Miami email account from regOneStop@miamiOH.edu.
  3. Check Your Oxford Time Ticket: The email will confirm your permission to register and provide information about your Oxford Time Ticket.
  4. Register for Classes: You will then log into BannerWeb and register for your Oxford classes on your own.

Important Note: Your registration time (Time Ticket) for your Regional classes may be different from the time you are allowed to register for Oxford classes.

Full Change of Campus to Oxford

A Full Change of Campus is for students who plan to take all or the majority of their credit hours on the Oxford campus. This change is significant and means you will be:

  • Advised by Oxford departmental advisors. Divisional advising contact details are below.
  • Required to pay Oxford tuition rates and student fees.

If you have met the requirements to change your campus, you may have certain holds placed on your account that prevent registration. You must resolve these holds in order to register for classes!

  • Immunization: Requires inputting immunization documentation, seeking a medical or non-medical exemption, or a combination of the two. For more information, and for the required forms, visit Student Health Service’s Immunizations page. Email immunizations@MiamiOH.edu with any questions.
  • ISSS hold: This hold is placed on international student records. International students must update their I-20 record before they can register for classes. Contact Maria Potter at potterm@MiamiOH.edu for more information.

Oxford Students taking Regional classes

Oxford students who want to take some classes on the Regional campuses but remain Oxford-based students may register for most Regional classes without special permission, but will be charged the Oxford tuition and fees for Regional courses (unless they Change their Campus in full to the Regionals). Regional online courses are restricted for Oxford students until one month before the start of the Fall and Spring semesters. Some Regional online classes are always restricted for Oxford students unless they have a Regional major, minor, or Thematic Sequence.

Oxford students who have a declared College of Liberal Arts and Applied Sciences (CLAAS) major, minor or Thematic Sequence should complete the Permission to Register form to request access to the Regional courses they need during their assigned Oxford Time Ticket. The student's degree audit will be checked to verify a CLAAS major, minor or Thematic Sequence, and the student will have a Regional Time Ticket added. If the course is closed, the student may be instructed to join the BannerWeb waitlist or use the ROR system.

Oxford students who want to take all their credits at the Regional campus request a full Change of Campus on the One Stop form. When the form is processed, the student's campus will change and they will be issued a Regional Time Ticket. Oxford students who change their campus for Winter or Summer term will revert back to Oxford campus student status after the term. Oxford students who change their campus for Fall or Spring semester will need to do another Change of Campus form to take Oxford classes in a future semester.

Please read through the information about taking courses on another Miami campus before submitting the Change of Campus form.

Oxford students can sign up for Regional online courses as follows:
