Regional Students Seeking to Take Oxford Classes

Miami University Regional Campus students can earn associate and bachelor's degrees directly through the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science (CLAAS). However, students who want to take classes on or transition to the Oxford campus must follow specific guidelines.

Eligibility Requirements To take Oxford courses—whether taking a single class or declaring an Oxford major —Regional students must meet the following criteria:

• Credits: Complete at least 16 graded Miami University credit hours (excludes credit/no-credit, developmental courses, CLEP, AP, and College Credit Plus).
• GPA and Standing: Maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA and an acceptable conduct record.
• Residency: Complete at least one fall or spring semester on a regional campus.

Taking Select Oxford Courses (Remaining a CLAAS Major) Regional students can take classes at the Oxford campus, provided they meet the minimum criteria.

• Submit the required Permission to Register Form and ensure that at least 51% of total semester credits remain at the Regional campuses.

Changing to an Oxford Major (Full Transition) Regional students seeking a degree program housed on the Oxford campus must officially declare their major through the appropriate Oxford academic division once the minimum criteria are in progress or met. In addition, students must:

• Submit required student health forms
• Adhere to Oxford campus housing policies

College of Arts and Science (CAS)

Declared College of Arts and Science majors will receive an email from Chloe Britenstine at britenc@MiamiOH.edu inviting them to schedule a 30-minute appointment after they submit their Change of Campus application. Please submit the application ASAP. Call CAS Advising at 513-529-3031 with any questions. 

Exploratory Studies (including pre-FSB)

Students who are undeclared in a major when they change campus or who intend to apply to the Farmer School of Business should email exploratorystudies@MiamiOH.edu to schedule an appointment. Students can also log in to their Navigate accounts and directly schedule with an OES advisor. Or, visit our website and click on, "Make an Appointment."

College of Creative Arts
