McComb Seminar on Creative Writing, Spring 2017: Creative Writing for Games

The Creative Writing Program is pleased to offer a seminar on the craft and theory of writing for games taught by distinguished UK game narrative designer, author, and McComb Writer-in-Residence Cara Ellison. A significant proportion of the class will be devoted to hands-on experimentation and practice in the art of writing for games. The seminar will include four workshops as well as a lecture presentation by and a Q&A session with Ellison. The latter two events are required for enrolled students but open to all students. 

  • Cara Ellison's lecture, "Opening Doors: An Introduction to Videogame Writing," is open to all. March 14, 2017, Miami University Bookstore, 7:30pm.
  • The Creative Writing for Videogames workshop will be offered for 1 credit (tuition will be charged) or for zero credit (for free) as students choose. The course is open to all, but students who would like to have it appear on their transcripts may choose to take it for credit.

  • The workshop will be offered Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:00pm–6:30pm from March 8–15 in Laws 201. Class size is limited to 18, and the deadline for signing up will be February 15. Registration Form
