Bruce Murray: A Musical Feast
Every Wednesday at noon during the dark days of the pandemic, the Performing Arts Series delivered a different Musical Snack: a short piano piece picked and performed by Oxford treasure and Steinway artist Bruce Murray. Now, Bruce returns to the Performing Arts Series with a truly special live program!
The first half Bruce will perform hand-picked selections from the Musical Snacks YouTube series, whetting our appetites for the main course: Beethoven’s masterpiece, Sonata No. 29 ‘Hammerklavier’. Affectionately called ‘The Hammer’, it is widely known as one of the most difficult sonatas to perform. Join us for Bruce’s lavish banquet of piano pieces performed brilliantly!
