Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Family Science and Social Work offers undergraduate students the following degree program, minors, and a certificate.

Family Relationships Minor

This minor examines the diversity and complexity of family relationships across the life course. Courses focus on family diversity, couple relationships, sexuality, parenting, and human development. Students desiring to increase their knowledge about families in order to enhance their career opportunities will find this minor of interest. (18 credit hours)

Child Studies and Youth Development Minor

This minor prepares students to work with children from birth to age 25. Courses focus on growth and development, parent-child relationships, and techniques for working with young children. This program is of special interest to those majoring in education, social sciences, speech pathology, or family studies and social work. It includes the Children and Families thematic sequence (FSW 4). (18 credit hours)

 

Graduate Program

Master of Social Work (MSW)

This program is fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of the full or part-time program are eligible for licensure in Ohio and other states. 

 

Combined Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs

Qualified students can simultaneously pursue a bachelor's and a master's degree in one of the EHS programs that offer 3 + 2 or 4 + 1 plans. Learn more about the combined programs offered:

Kinesiology and Health Programs

The Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health offers three combined degree programs for health promotion, exercise and health science, and kinesiology and athletic training.

Teacher Education Program

The Literacy and Language combined B.S./M.Ed. program prepares students to succeed in literacy positions in preK-12 schools by providing the very latest in research for working with emergent and striving readers.
