Career Services

Miami University has a Career Services office on campus that provides free services to students, faculty and staff, alumni, and parents. Programs include Networking and Dining Etiquette, utilizing LinkedIn, and Successful Salary Negotiation. Additionally, Career Services provides an online database (Miami CAREERLink) of employment opportunities ranging from part-time, full time, internships, and seasonal opportunities.  

Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) supports long-term and short-term communities for faculty growth and inquiry (e.g., FLCs, FLINGs, workshops/seminars); innovative teaching through projects, grants and awards (e.g., Top 25 project, grants, Knox award); and works with programs to enhance and celebrate teaching and learning at Miami University. The mission of CTE is to embody and promote engagement with scholarly and reflective teaching practices to support the intellectual development of faculty and students as members of a diverse community. The CTE also supports graduate students through the GSTEP program, providing foundational skills to develop confidence as a teacher and throughout an academic career. 

King Library

The King Library is the main library on campus and is typically open 24 hours a day. On the 3rd floor of the King Library a room is specifically designated to Graduate Students. Additionally, on the first floor the Howe Writing Center is available for Graduate Students to seek writing help and feedback. A Graduate Student Boot Camp is offered occasionally for graduate students to devote an entire day to independent writing. 

Miami University Child Development Center

The Child Development Center, operated by Mini University, serves infants, toddlers, and preschool children with both before-and-after school care as well as summer programs. Grants are available for income-eligible families. 

Parking and Transportation Services

The Parking and Transportation Services Office manages access to and availability of campus parking resources and safe, reliable transportation alternatives for students, employees and guests at Miami University in support of the institution’s mission and commitments to sustainability. The Miami Metro bus provides transportation around campus, Uptown and to several off-campus housing areas. All students currently registered in a course may ride the bus for free with their student ID. As a graduate student, you are also eligible to purchase a faculty and staff motor vehicle permit. 

The Student Health Services

The Miami University Student Health Service provides outpatient care to all eligible students. Eligible students include anyone from the Oxford or regional campuses who are enrolled in at least one class. Our staff includes full-time physicians, certified nurse practitioners and a nursing staff to provide quality outpatient care to the students of Miami University. Our services include general medicine and injury care, gynecology, immunizations, laboratory and pharmacy. All of the SHS services must be ordered by a SHS clinician. The Student Healt Services goal is to provide both medical care and education that supports a healthy college experience.

Off Campus

Family Resource Center

The Family Resource Center is located in Oxford, Ohio and provides Programs and Services for community members such as Emergency Financial Assistance, Community Garden access, a thrift store, and job readiness coaching.

McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital

The McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital is located uptown in Oxford, Ohio and services five different counties including Butler, Preble, Franklin, Union and Fayette.
