Miami University Lecture Series continues with perspectives on Freedom Summer
Mary Frances Berry, Charlayne Hunter-Gault and Juan Williams will present "Freedom Summer: the Voting Rights Act and the Political Realities of 2014" at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in Hall Auditorium. Their lecture is part of the 2013-2014 Miami University Lecture Series.

NSF grant project focuses on the art of inquiry in chemistry education
Eleven high school chemistry teachers from the region are entering their second year of a research project at Miami University aimed at improving teaching and learning by focusing more on the inquiry method. Fairfield educator Kyle Jones is already changing his approach in the classroom.

Martin Johnson wins 2014 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize
Miami University historian Martin Johnson is co-winner with Allen Guelzo of Gettysburg College of the 2014 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize, which includes an award of $50,000.

A golden opportunity: Miami geologist studies world's largest single crystals of gold
The world's largest single crystals of gold were hosted at Miami's Shideler Hall during winter term. Mineralogist John Rakovan is the first scientist to examine the crystals for authenticity.
